SB 233, as it passed the Senate, required the Energy Commission, in consultation with the State Air Resources Board, on or before June 30, 2024, to convene a stakeholder workgroup to examine challenges and opportunities associated with using an electric vehicle as a mobile battery to power a home or building or providing electricity to the electrical grid, and required the commission, in consultation with the stakeholder workgroup, on or before January 1, 2026, to submit a report to the Governor and Legislature that includes specified information related to the bidirectional capability of electric vehicles and electric vehicle service equipment, as specified. SB 233, as it passed the Senate, required all new electric vehicles sold in California, beginning in model year 2030, to be bidirectional capable, except as specified.
The Assembly amendments delete the contents of the bill and instead, through November 30, 2024, authorize a physician licensed to practice medicine in Arizona who meets certain requirements to practice medicine in California for the purpose of providing abortions and abortion-related care to patients who are Arizona residents traveling from Arizona, upon application for registration with the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, as specified.
